I remember as a child trying to act and dress up like an adult. It always seemed like a great idea in the beginning, you know; wear jewelry, makeup, high heels and Mom’s dress. This would tell them I’m not a child. I wanted to feel like myself only ‘all grown up’.
But that’s not what happened.
The high heels were way big and flip flopping all over my feet which were then tripping over Mom’s dress which was longer than my little frame and boom, I fell down time and time again.
The same is true with our businesses. Sometimes we try on someone else’s persona or brand to try and play in the big leagues but when that’s not how we’re wired it just feels awkward. We trip over our words, our actions and sometimes our clients.
Authenticity is the key.
Who are you?
What are your wired strengths?
How can you leverage them today in your business and in your life?
What is the one thing that you do exceptionally well that you really enjoy?
Find the answers to these questions either with a coach or on your own and you are well on your way to finding out what you were truly meant to do in this world/
And that is the best way to feel like ourselves only ‘all grown up’.

I love this quote from C.S. Lewis:
"When I became a man I put away childish things: including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."
