I have declared a new holiday.
One that we can enjoy every week, heck everyday would be just fine too.
I shall call my holiday...
'Whiteout ® Wednesday'
I'm not sure about you but yesterday was not a perfect day for me.
I began my day behind schedule.
Made several mistakes.
I missed a call I was looking forward to.
I overindulged with a delicious buttered corn muffin in the morning.
I didn't accomplish my post it note 3 things.
I didn't let the driver on the corner of Colonial Springs Road and some other road (you see I forgot the name too, tsk tsk) cut into traffic.
I was short with my sis-in-luv when she told me for the eighth time (no joke 8 times, she is experiencing some dementia from the chemo) she didn't think she could take her new medicine every night because she wouldn't remember and I told her for the 8th time that the home health aide and I will be sure she has it, but my answer was curt.
Yikes I need a do over!
How about you?
Are you ever frustrated because things are not going the way you intended?
Is there a relationship in a tailspin that needs mending?
Is your job getting whats' left of you rather than the best of you?
Having difficulty seeing what you CAN do when it comes to a new career or even a business?
Wondering if you are destined to a life of failure?'
Perhaps you should celebrate with me.
Write out all the things that have not gone right.
All the stinkin' thinkin' thoughts that paralyze you from moving forward.
Keep writing....come on.... you know you've failed more than that.....get the book going!
Finished?
Is your list complete?
Perfect.
Now get out the correction fluid and celebrate along with me for today is
'Whiteout ® Wednesday'
You can begin again today.
You can move forward without the burden of yesterday.
You can be all you were wired to be, you simply need to begin.
And Wednesday is as good a day as any.
Oh and pass the correction fluid, would ya....I'm sure I'll be needing it for 1 thing or another today too!

Thanks for that, I definitely had one of those days on Monday. I know I'm not the only one, but it's encouraging to actually hear someone else say it. Here's to a new day!

Wow, Thanks, Deb. This is gonna sound funny, but I didn't think the coaches ever had days like that. II Corinthians 12:9-10 is the brand of white-out I prefer:
"But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.'
"Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Feliz Miércoles,

I really needed to read this today. Yesterday was NOT a good day, for so many reasons, and I'm still beating myself up for it today (I have, however, managed to overcome and get the 4 things on my post-it note done TODAY- even if they were leftover from yesterday). I LOVE White-out-Wednesday!! I think it should be a weekly holiday!

Deb - thanks for this. This...is the real deal. We all need to hear this. Kevin

Preach it Deb! I can relate.
I just finished reading my daily inspiration from Og Mandino's book, The Greatest Secret in the World, it starts:
I greeted this morning with gratitude for the gift of another day.
here's the part that jumped out at me:
I mourned not yesterday's mistakes and defeats...
I burst into tears when I read that because my week has not gone very well so far. But, like you said Deb, we can move forward without the burden of yesterday... that's so empowering!
White-out Wednesday is going to be a weekly holiday for me... :)

Hi Raye
First Og Mandino is my FAVORITE ALL TIME AUTHOR!!!
I have been reading his work for several decades and now that he's no longer with us, I still re-read his books. Such wisdom packaged in great stories.
So glad this post reached you just at the right time! I am now advocating whiteout Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays.....It sure would help me!
Stay strong, today is a brand new day~

Hi Justin
We all need the encouragement and so glad we can share in our failures as well as our successes~

Hi Megan
Monday was your day, Tuesday was mine...I love John C Maxwell's book Failing Forward because that is what we're doing...not letting our failure stop us from action but helping us to modify or reshape our actions.
Can't wait to see where each of us sail to next!

Doug my friend, there is only one thing I can say
"Amen" !
I have left plenty of room for God to move~

Hi Kevin
So often we think we're the only one's falling short but it is a universal problem isn't it. So glad to have such wonderful friends in the journey like you and Terri, Chuck, Justin and the rest of the Free Agent Underground Community.

As i work with overwhelmed women, I find too many feeling great guilt about the lack of perfection. White out Wednesday is a wonderful (and fun) solution. It should probably become a National holiday!

Love this! I keep Isaiah 43 ever before me - Remember not the former things or consider the things of old. Behold I am doing a new thing! Are you aware of it!!! I will make streams in the desert and a way in the wilderness!
Here's to finding a way in the wilderness Wednesday! (with my whiteout for yesterday!)
