To Those Who have Served And Gave The Ultimate Sacrifice...Thank You!
Memorial Day is one of those holidays we all look forward to but not quite because of the original intent of the observance.
Of course some towns have a parade.
Some have sales at the department store.
Some have community events.
But lets face it the meaning of the day of observance has changed for some of us. We think backyard barbecues, kick-off to summer and more instead of remembering the brave ones who dedicated their time and for some their life, so we can be free.
The same is true with pursuing a new focus. Sometimes that activity can morph into something completely new...maybe we become so enamored with an author we go off and read 4 more of his books and take no action. Or maybe we allow a workshop to be hijacked into a gripe session and nothing meaningful happens. Or worse, maybe we lose track of the core purpose we set out for...to find out new focus. To identify the intersection where our strengths and passions meet.
If that has happened to you, rest assured it has happened to us all from time to time.
Pull out the mission you set out for in the first place.
Go back to square one and begin again.
Stay engaged and use a timeline, mentor or coach.
And then move into the next part of your life which may very well be the best part of our life.
And today...remember that we are free because some did not loose their focus, or give new meaning to their mission and they gave all.
