Returning to the
Scene of the Dream
There are times in life when something really big happens. And we remember vividly where we were, what we were doing, who was with us - every little detail. The moment is frozen in time.
You all know I'm a New York gal, and I love the city - the lights, the activity, the hustle and bustle. I find it all energizing. And I've traveled the world through the years - Paris, London, Rio - all those dreamy places we associate with finding some deep meaning in life.
So you would think that somewhere between New York and Rio, I would have found my dream, right? Wrong.
Oddly enough, my dream became reality in a converted barn in Franklin, Tennessee! (Did I mention I'm a New York gal????) I remember vividly the day I sat down by phone with Dan Miller while he was in his office there, I was one of his very fortunate coaching clients. As we talked, I began to realize that my life of being a successful executive was not as fulfilling as I had envisioned it to be. Something was missing. That something was significance. I needed to do something meaningful with my life - something that made a difference to others.
And then it became crystal clear - I could combine my passion for coaching people in their strengths using DISC Wiring profiles with my strengths of leading and teach others how to find their strengths.
At that moment, my dream was born!
This past weekend, I returned to the scene of the dream.
I was thrilled to be able to attend Dan's Coaching with Excellence workshop and received a wealth of information that will help me help others. I have to admit, it was even more meaningful to me because I was returning to where it all started. It was exciting to remember where I was when the idea first hit me, and to realize that I was actually living that dream.
This is something we should all do once in awhile - return to the scene of the dream. It helps us refocus, it encourages us to see how far we've come, and it will inspire us to carry it to the next level.
In this case, the next level for me is personal coaching, so this workshop was invaluable in that regard. I am already working with several clients and am excited to see them progressing toward their dreams.
If you have a dream, revisit it. Think about where you've been, where you are, and where you want to take it next. If you haven't made that dream a reality yet, perhaps personal coaching would help you as it helped me. If that is the case, please contact me. I'd love to help YOU find that moment in time when YOUR dream is born.
Dream. Do. Investigate. Do More.
Anything less...is a crime!
Coaching Client Experience
A coaching client of mine attended a Father's Heart Weekend event and was amazed at the experience. Check this out.
Who knows? It might just be the scene of your (or your son's) dream.
Deb

Thank for such an inspiring post Deb,
What a great reminder for us to "Return To The Scene Of The Dream" to re-ring the bell of our passions, and be re-energized to pursue our calling, and empower others to accomplish the same thing!
Thank-You
